Yard Solutions LLC is still open for business.  Here is how Covid-19 is affecting us.
Here at Yard Solutions, we are very concerned about the worldwide pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus.  Our prayers are with the individuals suffering with the virus and their families.  We also pray for those indirectly affected, both economically and mentally, across the world and especially right here in Central Virginia.  This is a scary time, but it’s also a time for faith and action.
We have been watching Governor Northam’s press releases and checking websites such as the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry and the Virginia Department of Health to see what our responsibilities are as a small business here in Virginia.  On March 23, 2020, Governor Ralph Northam issued new orders for businesses and schools.  According to Executive Order 53, recreational and entertainment businesses must close.  Restaurants must only offer take-out and delivery.  Essential retail businesses “to the extent possible, adhere to social distancing recommendations, enhanced sanitizing practices on common surfaces, and other appropriate workplace guidance from state and federal authorities.”
Aside from those types of establishments, businesses not falling under an “essential” category and not part of the recreational, entertainment, or restaurant categories, must either utilize telework or adhere to social distancing and sanitation procedures.  This undefined category is where we fall as a landscaping business. This excerpt from the news release explains:
Professional businesses not listed above must utilize telework as much as possible. Where telework is not feasible, such businesses must adhere to social distancing recommendations, enhanced sanitizing procedures, and apply relevant workplace guidance from state and federal authorities, including CDCOSHA, and the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry.” https://www.governor.virginia.gov/newsroom/all-releases/2020/march/headline-855292-en.html
After careful consideration of this order, as well as thought and prayer, we have determined that we are able to and will stay open for business, unless new orders are announced by the government.  Of course, we must maintain a sanitary environment, social distance by limiting to ten or less people together, and not allow any employees to work if they are ill.  Most of our work is conducted outside in the fresh air and we can easily avoid close contact with our valued customers.  We are making an effort to ensure that both our workers and customers will stay safe.  Please call us if you have any questions, concerns, or if we can assist you!

Sincerely,
Brian Dodgion
